Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System Joins Spirit of Women

October 22, 2007 - Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System is ready to host over 500 women at the Spirit of Women debut event, Spirit Girls Night Out. The event planned for Thursday, October 25th, promises a fun evening for all who attend.

The event will be held at First Presbyterian Church in the newly constructed Family Life Center. The event will be memorable and will be the first taste of how fun, health education and prevention can be. "Spirit Girls Night Out is meant to be a fun atmosphere where women can learn how to stay healthy, while still enjoying a night out with the girls," said Pam Snyder, Director or Marketing for MHHS and Spirit Coordinator. "The event will be very different from any other event in our area. Attendees will find themselves keeping busy and entertained throughout the evening," added Snyder.

Options at the event include, engaging in the health fair and business section, enjoying dinner at your leisure, physician mini-presentations or watching demonstrations. The large gym area will serve as the exhibition central. Over 55 interactive booths await, offering free goodies and information, special discounts, shopping, mini facials, mini massages, scrapbooking, free blood sugar checks, free BP checks, permanent cosmetic demonstrations, and did we mention shopping. The dinner, catered by Rothchild's, will be served from 5:00 - 7:30 PM. Ladies can enjoy the meal at their leisure, with no rush to eat, and no dishes to wash. The event will be trademarked by the Physician Mini-Presentations.

No event of this size can be planned without a village of volunteers. "The Spirit of Women Advisory Board consists of a group of phenomenal women who have donated their time and energy for a better cause, to make women's health accessible, interactive and fun, stated Richard Clark, CEO/President MHHS. The Spirit of Women Advisory Board consists of:

Pam Snyder, Spirit Coordinator
Dedra Anderson, CNO / Vice-President MHHS
Julie Campbell
Tonie Clark
Patty Christopher
Ann Hale
Trish Hatfield
Cindi Husk
Cookie Larkin
Kathy Jones-Terry
Dawn Poythress
Rosalind Thompson
Dorothy Cox, Spirit Secretary

No women's event would be complete without two things: Prizes and dessert. Major door prizes include a Polly Kay Shawl, $100 in Gas Gift Certificates, and 2 UT football tickets complete with padded stadium seats. In addition to the major prizes, over 25 booths will also be drawing for door prizes. The dessert bar will be the highlight of the evening to be unveiled at 8:00pm, featuring an oversized chocolate fountain and a cheesecake mountain both with all the trimmings.

Tickets are very limited and are $10 each. Available at MHHS Snack Shop or HealthStar Snack Kiosk. MHHS looks forward to celebrating the good health of women and their families everywhere.
