"The Heart Gala gives our community the opportunity to come together to continue to improve the care that so many of our citizens need in a time of crisis. We have made giant steps forward in an area where seconds and minutes simply mean the difference in life and death. Our professional teams of doctors, nurses and technicians need to be equipped with the latest and best tools available and we can do that by emphasizing what continued improvements need to be made. Our goal this year is to acquire a state of the art Telemetry Monitoring System which will enable patients to receive a higher level care during cardiopulmonary rehab," R. Jack Fishman, 2008 Heart Gala Master of Ceremonies and 2007 Honorary Heart Gala Chair.
"The Telemetry Monitoring System will allow us to closely monitor heart rhythms for abnormal beats. This equipment - transmitters, receivers, color monitor, a printer, software, a laptop, and other technology - translates into more peace of mind for anyone using the Cardiac Rehab Center, and enables us to fine-tune healthy exercise programs for each man and woman who participates," added Tommy Bain, Director MHHS Heart, Lung and Vascular Center.
The financial support from the Heart Gala helps to support Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System's Mission "To provide the best healthcare to the region with integrity, compassion and excellence," and the vision "To be recognized in the region as the best healthcare system for patients to receive care, physicians to practice medicine and employees to work." MHHS is proud to be your hospital.
Tickets to the Heart Gala are $175 each or $1,200 for a table of eight. They are limited, but available. Call Debra Poole, Foundation Executive Director at 423-522-4613 for more information.
