February 15, 2008 - Michelle Dalton, Pharmacy Director, at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System was recently awarded the Highest Operational Performance Award from Cardinal Health.

Cardinal Health oversees the operations of the Pharmacy at MHHS. At Cardinal Health, all of the acute care pharmacies they manage are required to complete an annual Pharmacy Performance Assessment with in-depth sections covering medication safety, Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals, regulatory issues including controlled substances, automation override management, CMS Core Measures, and more.

The recipient of the Highest Operational Performance Award is not only a great practitioner, but also a role model for Cardinal Health's EPPIC core values (Ethical, People-driven, Performance-driven, Innovative and Collaborative).

"Mrs. Dalton has not only excelled in the contributions to pharmacy management and Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System, she is also making a long-lasting contribution that will have a lasting impact on how pharmacy is practiced day-to-day", Suzanne Shea, Vice President of Operations for Cardinal Health.

"I am honored to have received this award, but it would not have been possible without the continuous team effort demonstrated by my entire staff. We believe in the core values of Cardinal Health and of MHHS and strive everyday to offer excellent patient care through pharmacy services," stated Michelle Dalton, MHHS Director of Pharmacy.

Mrs. Dalton was the pharmacy manager with the highest Pharmacy Performance Assessment score in FY 2007 with a score of 99.91%.
