Advanced cataract surgeries first performed at MHHS

Dr. Charles H. Lindsey and Dr. John William Carson, III, ophthalmologists in Morristown TN, recently implemented technological breakthroughs in cataract surgery by using the new ReSTOR replacement lenses.

The ReSTOR lenses are an improved design of a bifocal lens, allowing the majority of patients to see both distance and closeup without glasses.

Dr. Charles H. Lindsey said that everyone will eventually get cataracts, but not everyone will need corrective surgery.

A cataract is the clouding of the lens in the eye. When a person develops a cataract, the lens, which is composed primarily of protein and water, becomes so clouded light is unable to reach the retina, causing limited sight.
