Heart, Lung & Vascular Center
The Heart, Lung & Vascular Center provides cardiac, vascular and respiratory care through a number of area specialists, including local cardiologists, vascular surgeons and pulmonologists. The Center, which recently moved to a new, second floor of the new Northeast Tower, offers outpatient diagnostics, including electrocardiograms, stress testing, echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, heart catheterizations and angiography services.The Center's integrated Cardiac Rehabilitation Program helps patients recover with comprehensive cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation services that promote wellness and a healthy lifestyle. The program recently moved to a new location within the Heart, Lung and Vascular Center and purchased new exercise equipment, doubling its patient capacity. Patients enter a customized, three-phase rehabilitation program that begins the moment they are diagnosed or enter the hospital with a heart or lung condition. Specially-trained therapists educate patients about their conditions, help them exercise in a controlled setting and teach them how to continue exercising safely on their own. Community programs, such as Smoking Cessation classes and Heart Risk Screenings, are also offered through the department.
