MHHS Accepting Application for Junior Volunteer Program
MHHS Accepting Applications for Junior Volunteer Program
February 2012 ---
During February, applications are available for students interested in participating in the junior volunteer
program at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare
The summer program is available for high school students who are 14 to 18 years of age.
Through participating in the program, students contribute to the well-being of the community. Junior volunteers
broaden their horizons, acquire knowledge and expand their experiences by serving in the hospital and observing the many various and interesting health care careers.
The experience offers an opportunity to witness firsthand what is it like to work in a health care environment and profession. This can prove valuable when choosing a career and making a professional commitment decision.
Students who participate in the program are able to use the volunteer
service hours toward meeting the criteria to become a Tennessee Scholar. Also, many college applications include volunteer
service as an important component of the admission process.
Students interesting in volunteering
can obtain a copy of the application in their school’s guidance office or at the Volunteer
Department at the hospital.
